The New House

Here's the new house! I wanted to post pictures because I love to see where/how people live. I like to be able to picture surroundings.

It's two finished levels, and an unfinished basement.

The upstairs family room. Just like we had it set up in Idaho.

This is Elsie's toy closet and play area. It's really just an extension of the family area. She loves having all her stuff right where the action is, and I love having a place to store it all that's not her bedroom.
The third bedroom. Just an office/storage area right now. We need to buy a desk and hang some stuff. But very functional for now, and I love functional!
So I'm not the best picture taker, so I hope Elsie's room pics look okay. We're really happy with what we've done so far, but have a little more work to do. I want to add some more purplish-pinkish accessories and some really cute curtains.

The purple and white quilt on the bed was made by my Aunt Gail for my wedding. I'm so happy we now have a bed where it works so well!
Our bedroom, bathroom, and humungous closet are upstairs also. We haven't done anything cool in there, so I didn't feel the need to take a picture.

In fact, as I look at these pictures, I keep thinking it doesn't seem like we've done a whole lot. But we have!!

So now we go downstairs. Yes, a big empty room, and it will be that way for a while.

The dining area. We've lost our motivation to hang stuff. I think it's because I really want new stuff, but that's going to happen any time soon. I need to get over that!
The 1/2 bath. Just had too show at least one bathroom, and it was the cleanest.
And the kitchen. I've loved the island. Elsie loves to sit at the counter and hang out while I'm doing stuff.
We just love it!

a little Christmas video

I came across this video of Elsie singing some Christmas songs. You may notice that she throws in a little Bing Crosby version (including back-up singers) into the mix. We love Bing!

(I am playing major catch up on the blog, so sorry about all the Christmas posts!)

By the way...we moved!

We have had quite a busy month so far, and we are loving every minute of it. We moved into our house in Spanish Fork on January 28th (Paxton's bday). It is great! It's a much bigger space than our Nampa house. I've got a place for everything, and lots of empty space for when we're able to fill it. There's even an unfinished basement for storage.

We finally have high-speed internet, which explains why I've actually been motivated to blog. :) We have yet to get any satellite/cable, so we've been watching lots of movies and using our normal TV time to get stuff done around the house. Lots of projects, putting furniture together, hanging pictures, cleaning, etc. Our favorite thing so far is Elsie's bedroom. We have a few more pictures to hang, and then I'll post some pictures. It's quite adorable, if I do say so!!

Now, everyone, come visit!

Love ya

I'm not super big into Valentine's Day, but I've got to give a shout out to the one I love.

Aaron -
You make me laugh. You put up with my craziness. You work hard. You take care of us. You make me happy. I love you!

The Lights

We had been telling Elsie about the pretty lights at Temple Square since last Christmas, and we knew we needed to see them since we actually live here now.

We took a little jaunt to Temple Square with Angie/Qiana, Jeff/Nicole, Tanner, and Alexis. We started off with a feast at Tucanos, and then made our way to see the lights. They were beautiful, as usual, but wish they still did as many lights as they used to do. It was so cold and there were lots of people, but it was a great night out!

We parked by the planetarium, so on our way back to the car we did a little looking around. Elsie's favorite part was the Moon and Mars backdrop where you could take pictures to make it look like you were really there. She was coming up with all sorts of poses, and thought it was so funny. We were having so much fun trying to come up with some good shots!

I guess I posted the video incorrectly last time. Hopefully this will work.

Christmas Dance Recital

Elsie is taking a jazz and tap class this year. This class has been so fun for her. She's had a great time learning new moves, dressing up in her dance clothes, and having a good time with the girls in her class.

Each week they do a series of moves across the floor for practice and a bunch of stretches. Elsie says the stretching is her least favorite part of dance. I'm afraid to say she inherited the horrible flexibility from Aaron...okay, me too! It's quite humorous to watch.

I didn't get her signed up until November, and the class was already preparing for their Christmas performance. Elsie jumped right in and did a great job learning things.

Isn't her costume so cute?! Isn't she so cute?! :)
Grandpa, Grandma, Angie, and Qiana were able to come watch her perform. And, a big shout-out to Ang for helping me with her hair.

Here's the video that Angie got of their jazz dance: (My video of both dances is on good ol' 8mm tape...I need a new video camera!)

They are already starting to work on their Spring performance. It brought a smile to my face when I realized they are dancing to Madonna's "Get Into the Groove"
