sleep issues

For the past five/six months I've been having problems sleeping...both getting to sleep and staying asleep. It's been so frustrating. I've had to rely on ambien way more than I would like to and I don't really know what the problem is. I have better days/nights and then some sort of anxiety sets in and it all starts up again. Yes, I'm awake when I should be asleep. But after still trying to fall asleep 45 minutes after taking an ambien, reading, "relaxing"...I don't know what to do.

p.s. call me anytime during the night and we can talk...maybe that will help with the stress. :)

I get that sometimes when I am stressed, just not for that many months usually. Maybe instead of ambien, you need something for anxiety. Hope you figure it out soon, not being able to fall asleep is the pits.

Kim that sounds like the WORST. I'm so sorry. Anytime I don't have ONE good night's sleep I freak out. Hope it gets better.

I was having problems with that too and had anxiety issues. I went to the doctor for a regular check up and broke down crying and came out with a prescription for prozac. I have been sleeping so good since then. It used to take me atleast an hour to fall asleep and now I am usually out in 5 minutes. The anxiety is way better now too. Just an idea for you, I know it is not for everyone.

Kim that sucks! How long has this been going on? I have trouble sleeping but it's usually because my schedule is all over the place so my body is confused! I hope you can figure it out. Your trip to ML looked fun...so daring with the sushi. Glad Mitch could be home. Miss you!

Hi... I happened to go through your blog while cruising around blogger and read your last post. I am going through this same sleep problem.... although the doctor diagnosed me as going through pre-menopause. Try melatonin for the sleep. It's over the counter and natural.

I hope you can get some good rest soon. Sleep issues are the worst.

You can ask the doc for Trazadone too. No Ambien side effect worry and it really works. A friend of mine has taken it for quite awhile.

Christmas card was so cute - saw it at Mom7 dad's last week.
