waking up

Whenever Elsie wakes up in the morning or from a nap, she gets so excited to hear our voice when we come in her room. She's usually on her stomach still, so she'll start rolling around and going crazy. It's like she's so excited that she can't contain herself!

I am looking forward to going out of town today. Not only to get away and see family, but because we'll Aaron will not be working for a whole week. Yippee! We love having him home, and he hates having to leave in the mornings. Now, it's just convincing him to get up with Elsie in the morning...hopefully it will work!

can't believe it

I can't believe summer is basically over. We've had a great, fun-filled summer, and I'm sad to see it come to an end. The good thing is that we still get to go down to Utah this next week, and Aaron has the whole week off! Then I get to go to the JT concert in Seattle the weekend after that. I must say I am very much looking forward to that!

I can't believe I have a little baby who is almost 8 months old. That is crazy to me! I still hold her sometimes and think how cool it is that I even have a baby. It's an amazing feeling that I am so grateful for. She is so much fun, yet such a challenge. Yet I am very grateful for all of it.

why?

I just don't understand why getting pregnant, staying pregnant, and giving birth can be so difficult, if not impossible, when it is exactly what we are supposed to do....commanded to do. Last week my good friend had a miscarriage that turned pretty scary. She was losing so much blood that she passed out, and had to go to the ER. They weren't able to get it under control, and doctor was talking about having to do an emergency hysterectomy. Fortunately, he was able to get it to stop, and she is home and fine now. It was a very scary and, of course, sad situation. I know a lot of people have miscarriages and other problems, but this just reminded me again that it just doesn't make sense to me. When I think about it too much, I just get mad!

The great thing, though, is I have Elsie to love all day everyday! She's been cracking me up lately. She grabs at everything all the time, and her grip is getting very strong. Her favorites are the phone, the remote, and my hair. Last week we went to McDonald's before our drive home from Moses Lake. She was sitting on my lap, and I attempted to eat my sandwich. She was grabbing at it and the wrapper. I finally had to hold the sandwich in the air in between bites and tilt my head way up. Aaron was on the phone, so he couldn't help me out. It was very humorous. I'm sure I looked like a big dork! It is interesting how she is more interested in what I have than what she is holding or what I give to her. It's so fun to see how she changes and develops. I love it. (Whatever she can reach from her little chair, she grabs. I was quite impressed that she could handle this cereal box. She must love cereal already!)

relaxing weekend

We haven't done a whole lot this weekend, but it's been kind of nice. We went out to eat both Friday and Saturday night. A big surprise, I know! We did a little shopping for Elsie now that she's getting close to moving up a size. We found some cute stuff. I can't wait until she gets to wear it. I'll take pictures!

I had somewhat of a mental breakdown yesterday and realized that I need a hobby. I used to scrapbook, and I still need to do Elsie's pictures. The only problem is that I'm not really into that anymore. Plus, I need something to get me out of the house and away from being a "mom". I don't know if that makes sense. It all started when Aaron was gone playing football for over 2 hours. I got really irritated with him when he got home because he was gone so long and left me home to take care of Elsie. He got upset because he felt like he spends a lot of time home with us (which he does), and it's not a big deal for him to go out and play for a little bit. As he put it, "He just needs some guy time." So as I tried to explain how I felt, I realized I was jealous. He was right...there was nothing wrong with that. I just want the same for me. I don't know what I need, but I need something. Maybe I should join a flag football team, too!

oops...my bad!!

We went over to my grandma's house one morning last weekend to get some toast and jam. Elsie was sitting in her Bumbo chair (the greatest invention) while we were eating. I decided to break off a little piece of my toast for her to gnaw on to give her something to do. I had done it before with a piece of pizza crust, and she loved it. However, I have also tried it with a piece of toast crust, and pieces kept breaking off making her gag. So when I handed her the piece, Aaron was reluctant to let her have it because he thought it would make her choke. I told him she would be fine. He was not happy with me and kept insisting that it wasn't good for her. I just ignored him. Well, just like he thought, she was kind of gagging on some pieces, so he finally took it away from her. No big deal. A few minutes later he went to pick her up and, OOPS, she threw up all over him. It just kept coming out of her mouth!! Jared and I just start laughing because you should've seen Aaron's face. He was not amused!! He was so mad and didn't say anything. I knew he wanted to kill me. I think that's what made it so funny. We went back over to my mom's house, so Aaron could change his shirt and Elsie's pajamas. I had to take a picture! I swear, right as I called out Elsie's name for her to look at the camera, she turned around with the biggest smile on her face. It was like she was thinking, "This is funny!" Sorry to Aaron for making Elsie puke. Glad it wasn't on me! I'm very proud of you for not throwing up yourself.

everyday life

It's always hard coming back from vacation because Aaron has to go back to work and the fun comes to an end. I always love it when Aaron is home or, even better, when we are on vacation together because then I always have someone to talk to and have fun with. It's a big adjustment after a vacation.

So, yesterday I got my tooth pulled. Everything went really well. In fact, the worst part was the shot to get numb, and that wasn't even too bad. He had pulled the tooth all the way out within no time at all. I felt kind of like a big dork for being so stressed about it. Last night I just relaxed and ate a milkshake. Aaron helped with Elsie during the night, so I could just sleep. I had taken a pain pill and slept so good!

Aaron turned in his roster for city league fantasy football yesterday. This makes me realize how much football takes over our lives in the fall. Aaron is in 3 fantasy football leagues, he's going to play flag football every Saturday for about 6 weeks, plus he's obsessed with BYU football. Our weekends consist of watching college football on Saturdays and flipping between all the NFL games on Sunday, so Aaron can check his players. Oh, and he will slip a little church in there, too. I know he loves it so much, but it really starts to drive me crazy after a few weeks. I guess I can't complain since he did watch SYTYCD with me all summer (although I know he likes it!). Let the games begin!

I wanted to post some of these cute pictures of Carson, Kaiya, and Elsie from this last weekend. Carson and Kaiya were so cute with Elsie and loved playing with her. I did have to bribe Kaiya with candy to smile for the picture.

what a weekend!

This past weekend was wonderful! I loved the reunion! It was so nice to hang out with family that I don't get to visit with very often. We have so much fun together. I feel so blessed to have grown up in this family. Even when we haven't seen each other for a long time, it's like no time has passed...we can still have a great time.

We drove up to Moses Lake on Thursday afternoon. When we got there we ate some dinner with Mom, Angie, Jared & Lindsay, and their kids...it was J's Teriyaki, of course. That night we watched the finale of SYTYCD. We were all so excited that Sabra won! Especially mom...since she did yell out "Oh, there is a God!" Yeah, she didn't hear the end of that one!

Friday morning Aaron and I woke up pretty early. Aaron had to get ready to go golfing, and I had no choice (thanks to Elsie). While Aaron was golfing I went to the grocery store with my mom to get the food we needed to bring for that day. We got to Jeff & Becky's around 11:00 for scones. I must say I didn't really eat as much as I wanted because I was too busy talking to everyone that I hadn't seen for so long. I spend the afternoon visiting with everyone. Some people went swimming and most of the younger kids were out on the boat/jetskis. Elsie was so good all day long. She took a couple naps in their house and enjoyed being outside the rest of the time. It was fun to get to show her to everyone that hadn't met her yet! We had a great dinner with lots of nummy salads. Then once our food settled, we had a little family dance. Angie put together a great mix, and we danced for about an hour. Us girls had so much fun!! We were all quite impressed with ourselves that we remembered "The Grind" and just had to much fun goofing off. Most of us don't get to do that very often. Some of the other cousins and aunts/uncles came out as well...the little kids were so cute, too. Everyone got a kick out of Carson's serious face as he danced the robot. I still laugh when I picture it. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. He is too funny! Plus, we were privileged to see Aaron bust a move. I always tell him it looks like he's having a seizure when he dances. It makes me laugh. After the family dance, Jeff made a few announcements and handed out the family reunion T-Shirts...Cherry Creek Rules. (Basically it means we think we can do what we want and change the rules anytime we want. I think it was very fitting.) Then we watched the family video that Doug had put together. I really enjoyed seeing all the pictures of us growing up. He also had included some really cool pictures of grandpa. There were also a few pictures of Mitch, which really made me miss him and wish he could've been there. Doug had set up a video screen outside to watch a movie. Aaron and I decided to go home, though, because Elsie was tired...and so were we.

Me and my cute baby Elsie!

Aaron playing Settlers of Catan with Aaron Roach, Kelsey, & Jared. Isaac and his fiance Linh were playing a different game next to them.Kendall and McKayla relaxing in the sun. I love these girls, especially since they actually came out and danced with us (unlike some of our other younger girl cousins...haha!)Aaron, Angie, Elsie, Kacey, and I talking when we should've been chowing down on scones!Myca and Jared cuddling. By the way, I did fail to mention earlier than during our race at the park, my pregnant cousin Myca was faster than me. Is that pathetic or what?!Mom and AngLindsay and Daishan playing on the swings with their girls...who are so cute!!

Saturday morning before we did anything else, we went over to grandma's house to get some toast and jam. A trip to ML wouldn't be complete without that. Aaron eats it like candy! Later that morning, us girls went to a bridal shower for Alysha while most of the boys went to the park to begin the games. The shower was nice, and Alysha got a lot of cute presents. Next we got to go to the State Park where we played volleyball, ran races, did an egg toss, took family pictures, and ate pizza. It was a great day. Aaron tied in a threesome in his race with Kyle and Isaac, so they had a tiebreaker run. Aaron says he won, but it looked pretty darn close to me. Most people were quite impressed that such a little guy with short legs could run so fast. I must say that Aaron was quite impressed with himself as well. I rotated in a couple games of volleyball, but they pretty much kicked me off because I was so bad. Not really...but I did suck! That evening we went to Justin's reception and visited some more. We took some adorable pictures of all the babies under the age of 1. They were so cute! It was so interesting to see how different they all are. Most of the babies that are younger than Elsie are bigger than her. After the reception Kacey, Peggy, Alysha, Myca, Gail, and Nena came over to mom's house and we re-watched the SYTYCD finale and analyzed it. What fun!
Grandma joined a game of volleyball with her children. She was so cute and, of course, was trying her hardest because she's just as competitive as the rest of them. One time she took a fall and was laughing so hard. I took this picture a little too late!
My mom playing volleyball...a sight I've never seen. I think that may be where I got my skills from.I had to steal this picture from Ashley's blog because it is so cute. Elsie was obsessed with touching and rolling over the other babies. She was loving Sibel sitting right next to her!
We were supposed to leave on Sunday, but we both felt like we needed a day to relax after such a busy weekend. So, we just hung out at my mom's with my family and watched TV. It was nice. Elsie had a fun time playing with her cousins and being spoiled with attention. She was SO good all weekend long, even though her schedule was all out of whack. I wish I had taken more pictures with my camera, but I got lazy. Plus, there were so many other people taking pictures that I'm hoping I'll be able to see everyone's. Anyway, I just loved it and loved being with all of my family.

vacation time

I've been looking forward to today for quite a few days now. Not only am I way excited for our family reunion, but I'm excited to get out of the house for a few days. It's always nice to have something to look forward to, even if it's just a short trip. I know we are going to have a blast! There's going to be all sorts of fun things to do, good food to eat, and, most of all, my wonderful family to hang out with. I hope the family wants to make this a yearly tradition. I think it is so great since we're all spread out now. Anyway, I'm pumped!

Elsie did not sleep well last night, which made me not sleep well either. Of course Aaron never hears the monitor, so it's always me getting up to check on her. I don't do much except peak in her room and make sure nothing major is wrong. Then, I just have to wait it out until she gets herself back to sleep. Lately that only takes her a few minutes. I usually just sit on the computer since it's in the room right next to hers. The trouble comes when I have to get myself back to sleep. Last night it took me over an hour to fall back asleep one of the times I got up. Not fun! So I'm pretty tired today, but I don't care. I'll probably be tired all weekend, so this is good practice. I guess the good news is that Elsie CAN get herself back to sleep without me even giving her the binky...unlike a couple months ago. That makes me happy!

Ta ta for now...I'll be back Sunday!

my toothache

A couple months ago, I realized that my one and only wisdom tooth had finally broken through. A few weeks later, I started having a little discomfort, but nothing too bad. Well, the last week has been kind of miserable. I can't open my mouth very wide, it hurts to chew, and I've had a headache. So I went to the dentist yesterday, and he said we need to pull it out. Now, I know I'm lucky that I only have one wisdom tooth, but I seriously thought I was going to be able to go my whole life without ever having the experience getting them pulled. I'm not thrilled! He said he could do it while I was there yesterday, but I wasn't up for that. I get to go back next week to have it done. For now I'm just supposed to take antibiotics for the infection. I'm really hoping that will help!

I have to put my two cents in regarding SYTYCD. I am so thrilled that Neil made it through to the finals. I knew Sabra would, but I was a little nervous for him. I wish Danny wasn't in there, even though I know he is such a talented dancer. He just bugs me like crazy. Anyway, can't wait for the finale this week. Except that means it will all be over. Good thing fall shows will be starting soon!

Family Fun!

It's been a few days since my last post because we have been very busy and having fun! Jeff and Nicole and their kids came up to visit us this weekend. We had a great time and were sad to see them go. They got up here Thursday late afternoon and came out to our house to eat dinner and hang out. Unfortunately, Elsie's diaper leaked poo on Ashley just a few minutes after they got there (and then later she spit up on her as well). Not off to a good start! We just visited and played a game that night. Aaron had to get up to work the next day, so we didn't stay up too late.

On Friday, they spent some time swimming at their hotel, and then they came out to our house. We had decided to get the unlimited day pass for Boondocks and spend the day there mini golfing, riding go-karts, playing laser tag and so on. We were able to get discount tickets at Costco, which was a bonus. Elsie was such a trooper and just loved being outside and having so much to look at. We got there about 3:30 that afternoon, took a dinner break at 7:00, and then we stayed until a little after 10:00. Jeff and Nicole stayed with their kids until it closed at 11:00. Elsie wouldn't fall asleep in her stroller, and she was finally starting to get pretty grumpy! But, like I said, she was such a sweetheart most of the day. Of course, the boys loved the go-karts the most...actually I think we all did. It was pretty fun trying to race each other and cut people off. Jeff and the kids dared the bumper boats, but Aaron and I weren't too into getting wet. For dinner, we took them to one of our favorite places here called Costa Vida. It's actually basically the same restaurant as Cafe Rio in Utah, but they have the best sweet pork. Aaron and I crave it all the time! We were pretty exhausted by the end of the that day.

Of course, Elsie still woke up at her regular time on Saturday morning, even though she had gone to bed 2 1/2 hours late. So, we got a few things done around the house while they swam at their hotel again. They came out to our house that afternoon. Us girls, minus Elsie, went shopping. Ashley bought all sorts of cute clothes. She looked absolutely adorable in EVERYTHING she tried on. I don't remember the last time I had that experience (if ever!) Nicole and I were trying hard not to hate her too much! (Just kidding, Ash!) It was fun to get out of the house and shop...even if it wasn't for myself. We went out to Red Robin that night and then to Coldstone and stuffed ourselves silly. When we got back to our place, we played Shrek Party on the X-Box for a while and then Mad Gab.

It was such a fun weekend! We were so glad to have all that time to be together...too bad it can't be more often. The kids were great and everyone loved holding Elsie. I enjoyed having a little break as well. (Nicole I've got more pictures that I'll email to you.)

I love these pictures of Elsie looking at Aaron. I can't believe she didn't get distracted by the camera. He was making her laugh too hard, I guess!

NKOTB

This morning I was doing the dishes and had Elsie sitting in her Bumbo seat on the counter next to me. She was not very happy, so I thought I'd sing a song to distract her. What song came to my head? That's right...Hangin' Tough! No, not "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" or "Itsy Bitsy Spider," but a New Kids On The Block song. It must be from reading Angie's childhood memories blog yesterday. Anyway, I was rocking out, but I don't think Elsie cared for it too much. I'll have to work on that! Maybe I need to start her off with something more mellow, like "Please Don't Go Girl."

Elsie's latest trick

Whenever Elsie gets a hold of towel, clothes, burp cloth...you name it...she puts it over her face and tries to get it off. I think it is so funny because her body starts kind of shaking as she tries to pull it off. It's like she's concentrating so hard to use all the strength and muscles in her body. I love it because she'll just do it over and over again. And, of course, if I play along and say "Where's Elsie?" she just laughs and loves that. This morning she had fun playing this game with her book. Except it was really funny because she would just let it sit there and not try to pull it off. It's almost like she didn't know what to do with it, or maybe she was just posing for the camera!

I tend to be very simple when it comes to how I look. Half the time and I don't even remember to put on earrings, and I don't really wear much jewelry. Plus, it's a rare occassion when I actually do my hair. So, I've been trying to remember to not pass this along to Elsie. I want her to look cute even if I don't. Is that shallow? Maybe it is, but I don't care. She's my princess!

Elsie's older brother, Paxton

Every night when I put Elsie to bed, I tell her about all the people that love her...her mommy, daddy, grandparents, aunts/uncles, cousins, and so on. As I snuggled her and talked to her tonight, she just stared right into my eyes. As I finished my usual list, it finally occurred to me that I failed to mention Paxton. It was a very special moment for me while I talked to her about him. I don't ever want to forget about him, and I want Elsie to know about him and know that she has an older brother that loves her very much. I'm really not good at articulating my thoughts in writing, but I had an overwhelming sense of peace. I'm just so grateful that we will all get to be with him again, that we will get to raise him and get to know him, and we will be able to be a complete family.

I thought I'd include this little video that I took when visiting Paxton in the hospital (it's the only one I took). It was very dark in there, so you may not be able to see him very well. There's a couple times where he lifts up his arm, which, at the time, seemed like a miracle. Hope you enjoy it! I know I do every time I watch it.

i've been tagged by sam

Jobs I've Had:
paper route, babysitter, cashier at golf course, receptionist at Dr. Dave's, telemarketer, teacher, dental assistant, dental receptionist, receptionist at Prosecutor's Office, substitute teacher, billing/reception at Orthodontic Office, and, FINALLY, a mom!

Places for a Weekend Getaway:
When Aaron and I were in Moscow for law school, we used to go up to Spokane a lot to shop and stay overnight because we could. Or, we would go to Moses Lake to visit family. Not much has changed. We either go to ML or Orem whenever we travel. Someday when we have money (haha), we'll have change it up a bit!

Movies I Can Watch Over and Over Again:
Grease, Newsies, The Notebook, any Disney movie...for the most part, though, I don't enjoy repeating movies (it drives Aaron crazy.)

Guilty Pleasures:
Blogging/Reading Blogs, naps, eating dessert, some tv shows...namely "Scott Baio is 45 and Single" and "Rock of Love" (they are so awful!)

Places I've Lived:
Bothell, WA; Bellevue, WA; Moses Lake, WA; Provo/Orem, UT; Moscow, ID; Boise/Nampa, ID

Places I've Been On Vacation:
Disneyland, Minnesota, Moses Lake, Mazatlan, Germany, Hawaii, and others that I'm forgetting
What I First Thought When I Saw Aaron:
I thought he was good looking. He was very confident and it intimidated me. We met while in training at Convergys. I was very quiet, and Aaron has since told me that he thought I was socially retarded. He later added that he thought that because I wasn't trying to flirt with him and wasn't paying much attention to him. That makes me laugh!

If I'm in a Jam With Aaron, Tactics I Use to Get Out of the Doghouse:
Cry! I don't really mean to use this, but it really does work. Crying for me is something I can't control. Whether I'm stressed, upset, tired, hungry, embarrassed, frustrated (you name it), I automatically cry. I really can't even help it. However, it has proved to come in handy in many situations. (Right Aaron?)

Favorite Foods:
cereal, cheese, peanut butter, chocolate, ice cream, bread...wow, so healthy!

Websites I Visit Daily:
all the blogs, email, fox news

First Kiss Location:
on the doorstep at our house in Bellevue...it was very anti-climatic. Not the greatest...and they never got much better (with that guy!) With Aaron, our first kiss was in his parent's basement. How romantic!

Places I'd Rather Be Right Now:
Disneyland...I could sit there all day and not even do rides. I just love it there.
Moses Lake or Orem...to be with family

People I Tag:
Lindsay, Myca, Nena, Alissa, Jill...O.K., anyone who hasn't done it yet. It's fun to read!!

cereal & blogs

Like I said before I am needing to go on a diet to lose some weight. We decided to go with Aaron's "eat better" approach rather than going all out on Weight Watchers. My only trouble is that I love cereal too much. I crave it all day. I could eat 3-4 bowls easily. (I limit myself to 2.) I'm addicted to putting sugar on it. This does not help with the whole diet thing. When I did WW before, I seriously cut out cereal almost completely. I don't know how I did it, but I'm not willing to do it again. It sucked! Cereal is what keeps me going each day. I look forward to it when I get up, and I love it as a nighttime treat. Better than ice cream, right?!

Now that my siblings have blogs, I hope you don't get to bored with mine. They are both such great writers and very entertaining. I'm not searching for compliments here...I just want you all to know that I realize they are on a whole other level. I've always admired their abilities. So, for now, you'll have to just appreciate the cute pictures of Elsie. That's all I have to offer. At least I've always been the princess of the family. No one can take that from me! =)

picture day

We took Elsie to get her pictures taken today. This was our second try, and, fortunately, she was an angel. I was able to get her to smile for just about every shot. The only shot we weren't able to get is of her on her stomach. As soon as Aaron would lay her down on her tummy, she would rollover to her back. The good news is that we've never seen her do that before, but we wished she would've stayed in that position a little longer. It was pretty funny!

I ordered a copy of this picture for each family member, but if you want to see the other ones we took you can go to the website. They are all pretty cute! We bought a copy of each pose for ourselves...we couldn't narrow it down. I wish I could've done it for everyone (well, I know the grandparents are going to be jealous!)

If you want to see the pictures go to http://www.searsportrait.com/. The session ID is 41229A109731218 and the session password is SBPHTKZNG. Hope you enjoy!

a good day

Today was a good day. It was nice to have Aaron home and be able to get some things done. The weather was really nice this morning, and Elsie took a 2 1/2 hour nap!

Aaron had started a little project a few weeks ago while I was gone and planned on finishing it today. The grass over by the gate on our fence was not doing so well, so he wanted to pull it out and put some stones down there instead. We had a ton of rock left over from when we made our fountain, so he planned on using that. I wasn't caring too much if he actually did this project since it's not like we really see that area anyway. Well, it's just that I would rather have him inside hanging out with me. But, he was set on doing it. He worked on it today while I sat back and put in my two cents. It actually turned out a lot better than I was expecting, and he was quite proud of himself for actually finishing a project without me having to bug him to do it. Good job, Aaron!

(Aaron loves the hose. He will spend a good 1/2 hour in the back yard hosing things off. No joke!)

Here's a picture of the fountain we put together last summer with the help of Aaron's parents. It's pretty cool. We drove about 1 1/2 hours to the middle of nowhere (twice...I might add), hauled these stones down from a mountain in 100 degree heat, and put this fountain together all in one weekend. Not fun...but we're proud of it. And we only had to pay $14 for the stone. Not bad!

I realized that all of the pictures we have of Elsie are either by herself or with her daddy, so I made Aaron take a picture of us together. I had actually done my hair...I couldn't pass up the chance. Not that it matters what I look like. You know she's the only one we care to look at.

Oh, and last but not least, we went and saw The Bourne Ultimatum this evening. It was so good! Seriously, I loved it and have now decided that I am in love with Jason Bourne. (Plus, it's not like Matt Damon isn't too bad to look at either.) Aaron also confirmed that he has a man crush on Jason Bourne. I wonder if it takes the place of Brad Pitt. I'll have to ask him. Anyway, you must see it!

TGIF

I've not been feeling very well the past couple days, and I've gotten absolutely nothing done. As soon as Elsie goes down for a nap, I get right into my bed. It's not that I couldn't do something productive, I just haven't wanted to. I'm very good at making excuses in my head. No big deal, though. I can't imagine there's anything that needs to be done today. I'm just really glad it's Friday, and Aaron will be around to hang out with. It's been a rough week.

The other thing is that Elsie has decided that she doesn't need long naps anymore. This morning she only slept for 45 minutes, and this afternoon isn't looking much better. Maybe it's because she's getting a little older. It's only been about a month that we've really got the nap thing down, and now she's already over it. What's up?! (Oh, there she is grunting in her crib...I'll be back.)

Well, Aaron and I are going to start a diet on Monday. (Famous words...I know.) But, we really are. I did Weight Watchers a few years ago and had a lot of success with it, but I was not very fun to be around according to Aaron. I want to do it again because I totally need structure when it comes to dieting. Aaron thinks we can just "eat better" and we'll be fine. That doesn't happen with us, though. We can always find a way to justify things. Anyway, I think I'm going to break down and do WW except for when we are on vacation. That's just too hard! We'll see how it goes. If I don't talk about it, that means I'm sucking!

My cute Elsie picture of the day: I've been waiting all summer for her to fit into this outfit! The waist on many of her clothes has been too big, but she's finally starting to chunk up a bit. I fear she may be doomed with my pear-shaped body...not a large waist, but a butt/thighs that don't stop. Sorry Elsie! She pulls it off much better than I do. =)

what a cute baby

Elsie thinks I am the funniest person alive. Well, maybe not...but I do know how to get her to laugh. The video is kind of dark, but all you need is to hear it. Too cute!

This same night we were trying to get a cute picture of Elsie and I next to each other, but it didn't work out too well. She was more interested in pulling my hair. She got a pretty good grip on it. We'll have to try it again sometime...maybe when I'm looking a little better. Maybe I could even try doing my hair once in a while, or, better yet, putting on some make-up.

nothing much

Life is not too exciting right now, so I haven't really felt like there is much to write about. I wish I were a good writer like Angie. Then I would always have something interesting to say.

Feeding Elsie solids was going so well until the other day. She just suddenly won't take them anymore. She acts like she is gagging and spits it out. I even tried a couple different kinds of food, and she acts like it's the most disgusting thing in the world. I'm a little baffled by it. Of course, I automatically think something is wrong with her, but I'm sure she's just being a baby. For some reason, I can't get it through my head that baby's are like that. I'm too much of a schedule/plan person, I guess. It's driving me crazy! The good news is that she has been a very happy baby lately...laughing and smiling all the time.

Aaron and I re-watched The Bourne Identity over the last few evenings. We can't wait to go see the final movie. Our neighbors want us to go with them this weekend, but that means we'd have to get a babysitter. I don't know about that...too much money! But, it might be worth it for me to get out of the house.

Well, I love to post pictures of my cute little girl, so this one is of Elsie swimming with her Daddy. This was the second time we put her in the water. She enjoyed it much more than the first. She was kicking all around, and wasn't so tense.
